Jewelry Commercial are Ridiculous
| at 6:56 AM
Commercials for jewelry stores set the feminist movement back at least twenty years! I don't remember ever turning to Graham when it thunders for him to protect me. As much as I like jewelry (and robin's egg blue boxes are some of my favorite things in the world) these commercials make me want to puke. I will be boycotting Kay, Jared, and any other first named stores this Christmas.
Is it wrong for my first post to be a rant?
There are Conservative Democrats

I must include an author's disclaimer here and tell you that I am a stark raving pinko commie liberal. I'd never get elected to anything but County Party Chair. That being said, I feel like our Party's politicos are typically very liberal Austinites (like me) who don't understand the nuances in other parts of the state.
Two and a half years ago my husband's company moved us way down south to Hays County. Volumes could be written about politics in Hays County (especially if you talked to Bob Barton) but it is best defined as The Purple County. This last election cycle we went red - very, very red. Our state representative, Patrick Rose, was condemned largely by Democrats in Austin for his conservative views and commercials. I understand this and was also upset with some of his message. That being said, Patrick represented his district well and his advertisements are a great example of that. Unfortunately for all of Hays, Blanco, and Caldwell counties Patrick lost his race by 7%. That's almost ten points better than any other candidate with a D by their name though.
I hear people saying the only way for the Democratic Party to win again is to go further left and further liberal. That is the wrong strategy and against the fundamentals of our government! What's most important is for Democrats to represent their districts whether it is central Austin or Uhland.
So who do you represent, Aaron Pena????
